How to use the Amazon App on Kindle Fire device?


Just like the Echo device, Amazon also added the personal assistant as Amazon App on the Kindle. But here you need to know one important thing that it is not easy to call Amazon App for Kindle Fire as it was from the Echo.

If you use the app for the first time, you may need to change some settings for the Kindle Fire tablet you are using with it.

• Press and hold the ‘Home’ button. If you are unable to see the navigation bar, swipe up from the bottom of your screen to open it.
• Here, you will see a shining blue line ( if not then skip to the activation process), indicating that Alexa is all set to hear you.
• Ask Alexa what you want. For example – You can ask her about the weather.
• For Alexa controls, you can open the Amazon app from the home screen.
• Here you can manage the settings, edit reminders, set alarms, and Siri settings.

How to Activate the Alexa?

The system must be updated to get the Amazon Alexa features. This is for the system update:
• Swipe your screen from top to bottom.
• Click on the ‘Settings’ option.
• Click on the ‘Devices’ option.
• Check and make sure that your Echo device is turned on.
• If there is no Alexa Switch. Click for the System Update.
• Click on the ‘Check Now’ button and follow the on-screen instructions.

If you are unable to see the Blue line when you hold the ‘Home’ button then you must deactivate the parental control.

Disable the Parental Control

• Swipe the screen from top to bottom.
• Click on the Settings option.
• Under the ‘Private’ tab, click on the ‘Parental Control’.
• Type in the password.
• Disable parental control settings.
• Press and hold the Home button if you want to call Alexa.
