The Amazon Kindle app is available on the Mac App Store to download for free. The setup is very easy and quick. You just need to follow the given guidelines to get started with your digital library.
  • Open the Mac App Store. It is under the Apple menu.
  • Now, search for the Amazon Kindle.
  • The first result will be the official Kindle app. Just click on the ‘Get’ option and after that ‘install App’ to download the application.

  2. ‘All’ will display you the whole library on the Kindle App for Mac.
  3. The ‘Downloads’ will display you the titles you have transferred to the PC.
  4. The ‘PDFs’ menu will show you have documents you added which are not available in the traditional e-book format.
  • To organize the books, you can use the ‘Collections’ option. These are just like the folders in which you can store the items.
  1. If you want to create a new collection, just click on ‘Plus Sign’.
  • The menu will open on your screen having two different options. ‘New Collection’ – used to create a new folder. ‘Import Collection’ moves the existing folder you have created. For example – From the Amazon Kindle app for iPhone to Mac application.
  • To make a new collection in the Kindle app for Mac, choose an option and enter a name for it. Hit the Enter button to save.
  • There are two ways to add a book in the New Collection:
  1. Drag the book cover to the name of the Collection present on the left side of your screen.
  2. Right-click the cover, go to ‘Add/Remove from Collection’ and after that, click the name that you want to add.
  3. To read, double click on the book cover.

Purchasing New Ebooks on Kindle App for MAC

Amazon does not support a way to buy ebooks from the Kindle app for MAC. But, you can check the different titles using the Kindle search function. You can also read the first chapter free of cost. After finding the book you want to buy, login to the Amazon Kindle store web page and get the book.
After the checkout, Amazon will ask you whether you want to download the book to the Amazon Kindle device. If you are unable to find the book in the Kindle app, click on the ‘Sync’ icon to refer and get the book.
